We had the first celebration of the AIKATAN event of the year 2020 on Sunday – 5th Jan’20 with SPORTS DAY at Sports Authority of India (SAI). It was a day with fantastic weather at Bangalore with a bright Sunshine.
The event started off with a Limited Over Cricket Match (6 overs match) between two teams – RED TEAM and GREEN TEAM. With beautiful outfield and a perfect pitch the match started off. GREEN Team winning the Toss decided to bat first scored 62 runs. The RED TEAM initially thought the target is just nothing and they can easily make it. But luck did not pave their way and they ended up scoring 52 runs. More of the winning or losing tempo, it was a participation from the members present making the match exciting.
The next event was the CAP RACE FOR CHILDREN FOR CLASS-II & BELOW. It was so nice to see the Tiny tots in their colourful dress running all across the track with full enthusiasm in the event. The organizers took utmost care for these children during the event helping them to understand about the event.
This was followed by another event for CHILDREN FOR ABOVE CLASS II – SPOON & MARBLE RACE. The children their showed their utmost patience in keeping the marbles on the spoon and touching the finishing line
The Ladies event was just followed up with the SPOON & MARBLE RACE and we could see the enthusiasm to a very large extent within them.
For the COUPLES we had a COUPLE EVENT of balancing the Balloon and it was really entertaining to see the couple rushing hard to touch the finishing line
RELAY RACE WAS ORGANIZED for the rest of the Members who were thinking that what is left for them. But they did not get disappointed and we saw a very active participation within them.
Lunch was soon followed at the Officers Mess of SAI and it was well organized Dining Hall with the right accommodation. The food was real tasty from our regular caterer – BEJ Caterers.
The Director of SAI – Capt Ajay Kumar Bhal and his wife Mrs. Sanchita Bahl were present during the Sports Day. On behalf of AIKATAN they were felicitated by our President. We also felicitated the two employees of SAI – Mr. Laxman and Mr. Murthy who had worked very hard to arrange the venue and the Ground.
We had the last event – BOMBING the CITY after lunch and we could see the active participation from the members.
We thank the Sports & Arrangement Committee for extending their tremendous support in organizing this beautiful event in the begening of the year. Kudos to the entire team.
